AHA provides support and advice to customers and tenants and actively seeks to raise awareness of community issues to create a better place to live for everyone.
Applying for a new home:
AHA is committed to providing suitable accommodation for our customers in areas they choose to live.
We allocate properties for rent using our won waiting list, various choice based lettings schemes such as Property Pool, and council nomination arrangements.
Repairs and Improvements:
We are responsible for repairing your home and making sure that it is in good condition. Our aim is to offer you a first class service. Let us know straight away if your home needs repairing. Small repairs can turn into big problems if they are not reported. We are here to help.

Servicing your home:
We have a responsibility to make sure that your gas appliances and the electrics in your home are serviced and safe. We will service:
- Your gas appliance and boiler once a year
- The electrical wiring in your home every five to ten years
- Lifts in communal buildings once a year
In sheltered and supported housing we will also service fire alarms and check that fire equipment, such as smoke alarms and fire extinguishers are working properly.
Have you had your yearly gas service?
By law we have to check the gas appliances in your home every year to make sure that they are in good working order. All our gas engineers are Gas Safe certified and we hold the Gas Safe management certificate for gas servicing.
Planned improvements:
We plan to carry out extensive work during each of the next 5 years on repairing and improving tenants' homes.
We carry out planned maintenance work on homes such as modernising kitchens and bathrooms, installing central heating and replacing roofs.
Our planned maintenance programmes are decided by a number of factors including surveys we carry out into the condition of our properties and what work the majority of our tenants want us to prioritise.
